Clarity and a safety-conscious formulation
Craft Resin is formulated for two things makers care about most: a clear finish that stays clear for longer, and a formulation designed with the user's safety in mind.
Yellowing resistance
Clarity and longevity matter in resin work. Craft Resin epoxy is yellowing-resistant and helps resist yellowing over time. Table Top and Deep Pour are formulated for higher yellowing resistance than standard coating grades (manufacturer statement, no test method given). No epoxy is completely immune to yellowing — see our Yellowing article for how to keep pieces clear for longer. Note that silicone oil used in a project can itself cause yellowing over time.
A safety-conscious formulation
Craft Resin is designed for use at home or in a workshop. Like virtually all two-part epoxy systems, it contains some volatile organic compounds in its uncured state — see the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full composition information — so work in a ventilated space and wear gloves and eye protection. Uncured resin and hardener are classified as hazardous to health; fully cured resin is inert. If you colour your work with alcohol inks, use them sparingly: large amounts can disrupt the cure and increase flammability. For more guidance, see our safety articles.
